MATT Racing suits :

What is the difference between cowhide and kangaroo leather ?
Kangaroo leather is thinner, lighter and more stretchy than cowhide, which allows for a much tighter fitting suit than a cowhide suit. For the pilot, a kangaroo leather suit will be more comfortable to wear thanks to its lightness (about 3Kg less than a cowhide suit). Thanks to its extensibility and its thinness, the kangaroo leather is made more quickly what allows the pilot, to have a suit quickly pleasant to wear. To try it is to adopt it ;)
Is there a difference in quality between the different models of MATT Racing suits ?
All our suits have the same quality of leather, protection and finish. The only thing that changes is the level of customization. The 100% customizable suit in DESIGN and COLOR in 1 or 2 pieces is the RACING or the GP. Note that a kangaroo leather suit is more expensive than a cowhide suit because kangaroo leather is more expensive to buy.
What kind of protections are incorporated in your suits ?
Our protections are from the Smooth Ways brand and are CE level 2, which offers a higher level of protection than the level 1 products often used in the "standard" suits you can find in large distributors. To give you an idea, the material used is very similar to the more popular D3O.
Are your suits waterproof?
The leather is a skin so it is waterproof. On the other hand, the stretch kevlar parts that are on the whole length of the arms on the inside and the back of the legs, are not. On the other hand, our one-piece suits are all perforated on the front of the torso and on the top of the thighs, so they are not waterproof in these areas. However, you can ask for it to be completely unperforated or partially perforated.
What is the purpose of the aerodynamic hump?
The aerodynamic hump is simply aesthetic for the everyday biker but it can also be used to integrate a water bottle inside for long rides or road trips. This water bottle is connected to the front of the suit thanks to a hose that will allow you to drink while riding. Nevertheless, the water bottle remains an option that you have to select when ordering so that your suit is equipped with it. For the Pistards and other paddock champions, the aerodynamic hump is aptly named and everything is explained in this last lol. It is standard on the 1-piece suits and optional on the 2-piece suits.
Is the back protector that is in your suits approved for the track?
No because, for the track, it is imperative, for safety reasons, to have a back protector with a scratch that goes around your waist. If you want to try it, it's up to the event organizer to authorize you or not to take the track with your integrated back protector.
Is the integrated backrest removable?
Yes, because for the track, it is imperative, for safety reasons, to have a back protector with a scratch around your waist. However, whether you are a track rider or a biker, all of our suits are equipped with a removable back protector from Smooth Ways that meets CE standards.
To start the track, a 2-piece or 1-piece leather suit?
It is always more pleasant and appreciable to ride on the track with a 1-piece suit because your movements on the bike are more present and more exaggerated than on the road. The part between the jacket and the pants of the 2-piece suit could be annoying. But it's sure that if you're more eligible to have a coffee after a good ride or a good drink with your friends than to ride on the track, a 2 pieces suit will be more appropriate to let your athletic body take some air after sweating like a madman because with a 1 pieces suit .... you'll have sleeves that will caress the ground ;).

Taking measurements & customizing the sketch

How do I take the measurements AND the pictures at the same time?
Alone, it will be complicated... Two people can do it, but three is better! The photos are very important because they allow us to see if the measurement was taken correctly. We don't need the photo of the measurement itself (the figure) but rather how it was taken. That's why we ask to see the starting point of the measurement and the ending point. However, you need a good quality photo to be able to read it correctly Use a pen or felt-tip pen to draw the small lines that will allow you to mark the beginning and the end of the part to be measured. Don't forget to place the string at the level of your waist because in your back, we can't see your navel... Last resort: the seamstress! But be careful, the respect of the guide is mandatory even for professionals and does not guarantee the measurement in case of problem at the reception. Go to the contact page to find out where you can have your measurements taken!
Are photos mandatory?
Yes ! Go to question #3 to find out why and how....
How to send my photos in one go without saturating the mailbox ?
All photos, measurements and sketches are to be sent by email to [email protected]. To make it simple, use the multi-file transfer platform www.wetransfer.com: you upload your entire file at once, specifying your email and the email you want to send [email protected] and click on TRANSFER. It's as easy as passing the first one !
I don't have any graphic software to create my layout or even add the colors, how do I do it?
Very simple: you print the blank sketch you received and make me a nice coloring ;) Even with a pen, it works as long as you specify which color you want in the caption. For the "popular" logos that you want to integrate, download a jpg from the internet, rename it with a number that you will transcribe on a second blank sketch at the desired location. For the less known logos of your partners, the best is to send us the logo of the latter in vector version (.ai or .eps) in CS5 version or .pdf of very good quality.
Can the "MATT Racing" logos change color or be removed/moved?
Although they are made of rubber and cannot be moved or removed, the MATT Racing logos can change color to fit your design!
If I take a "custom" suit, can I put a sweater under it?
When you take your measurements, we ask you to put on the gear you usually use under your suit. So if you live with penguins and other polar bears AND you're cold AND you wear a sweater under your usual gear, then put a sweater on when you take your measurements or check the box "I want to give my measurements a bit of amplitude" on your measurement grid.
I just placed an order, how long do I have to send my measurements, photos and sketches?
After placing your order you will receive your little package "blank sketch + measurement guide". The manufacturing time is 30 to 40 days once your measurements and your sketch have been validated, we can only advise you to send them quickly so as not to be caught by time later when the time to go out has arrived... However, if your purchase was made during a sales period, you have 6 months to send us your measurements and photos. If your purchase was made outside the sales period, this period is 12 calendar months.
What do I need to take my measurements on video?
In order for your measurements to go well, you need to have the following things: - measurement material: measuring tape, felt, string and possibly "paint" tape or rubber bands - a smartphone or computer with a camera for the video and a camera or a second smartphone to take pictures of the measurements - one or two people with you to help you (measurements + photos) - your equipment: undersuit, sweater, down jacket, back protector - in short, everything you wear underneath
I don't have a Messenger account how can I do it?
You can create one or install the Whatsapp application, it works just as well. The coordinates of the person to contact for the video will be sent to you by email.
I only have one person to help me take the measurements, is that enough?
Let's just say it can be done! You have to have some extra elements like tape or rubber bands to make up for the missing hands, but it is possible! On the other hand, alone it is impossible!
How do I send the pictures of the measurements after the visio?
Only by email, via the MATT RACING transfer platform or by www.wetransfer.com. Be careful not to resize the photos from the phone. Under no circumstances should you send them via Messenger or Whatsapp, they would automatically be resized and therefore unusable...

The "ZEN" option

Does the PACK ZEN option exempt me from taking measurements?
Unfortunately not... As with any custom product, you need measurements with the same requirements: photos, markers, sewing tape measure etc...
Do I have to send back the test suit to receive the personalized suit?
Not at all! The option test suit IS YOURS! You don't need to send it back to us to receive your personalized suit.
Will my test suit be equipped with the options chosen for my final suit (hump, integrated airbag)?
Absolutely! The very principle of a fitting before the final outfit is to be in the same conditions. Your test suit will be made with the same leather and the same options as your custom suit: hump, water pocket (perforation only), integrated MATT Racing Air-bag. However, your ZEN suit will always be made of cowhide to keep the price of this option affordable. It will be fully usable in the same way as your custom suit.
After fitting, I want to have my test suit adjusted, is this possible?
You received your test suit and you asked for some adjustments for the final version, no worries we'll take care of it. However, you would also like to have your test suit adjusted in the same way. This is possible! Just send a request by email to [email protected] and our team will send you a quote for these adjustments.
Despite the validation of the test suit, my personalized suit does not fit me, what is the treatment in this case?
If your custom suit doesn't fit and your test suit did (fit or not), please send us an email to [email protected] with pictures of the problem areas. As with all our service requests, we will get back to you to discuss the problem. As with all our service requests, we will come back to you to check these measurements together and bring you an answer and a solution to this problem because our priority is that you are satisfied with your purchase!

After-sales service, alterations, repairs

How do I "relax" the leather of my suit?
The easiest way... Wear it! And have a little patience too! The suits you can find at the big or small distributors in your area are, first, in standard size (and not custom-made) and therefore less "close to the body" and, secondly, they have been made, for the most part, for several months and are waiting patiently in the stockroom to be worn. Their leather has therefore started to relax by necessity! A little tip: remove your inner lining completely. This will allow you to remove a "layer" of fabric. You can wear anti-perspirant textiles (leggings and long-sleeved t-shirt) under your suit if you are afraid of chafing. You will feel a little better to start relaxing your leather when you go riding. When you feel more comfortable, you can put your liner back on.
I just received my suit and it doesn't fit, what can I do?
MATT Racing suits are made by humans, not machines, and what matters to us at MATT Racing is that you have a smile on your face when you wear your suit. A problem with your suit? Two solutions: - Your service request is legitimate, proven by a good measurement thanks to the photos: you send us your suit and our service department will take care of sending your suit back to our factory so that the manufacturing workshop can solve your problem free of charge. We will ask you to take photos of yourself wearing the suit and to take new measurements before sending it back to us to check your measurements at the time of your request. - You have abused the raclette and other aperitif (depending on the season) which have allowed you to weigh 10Kg between your first measurement and the reception of your suit. There, inevitably, you will be offered a price for a new wetsuit depending on the importance of the modifications to be made. It's up to you to accept or to start working out ;)
I have gained/lost weight and my suit no longer fits, can I have it adjusted?
It can happen and we won't blame you for that... We also like good parties with friends! Here again there are solutions. But first you have to send your request by email to [email protected] with pictures of the areas to be taken. After agreement of the production we will be able to propose you either a price of adjustment of your suit or a preferential price to remake an identical model in the case where the modifications would be too important to be realized from your existing suit.
I fell with my suit, can I have it repaired?
Small slide or big stunt? That is the question. We can repair your suit (on estimate) but within the limit of the damage: if it is too important it will not be possible. To find out, send us photos by e-mail to [email protected] and we will be able to give you a price for a repair or a preferential price to make a new suit identical to the first one.
My suit has abnormal wear in some places, what can I do?
Have you noticed abnormal or rapid wear of your suit in certain areas for no apparent reason? You can send us an e-mail to [email protected] with photos of the areas concerned. We will come back to you after consulting the production workshop to provide you with explanations and solutions.
I just received my suit and it doesn't fit, can I get my money back?
Upon receipt, if you find that your suit does not fit, it is important to let us know as soon as possible, attaching photos of the affected areas. Our team will then come back to you to understand the problem and possibly ask you for additional measurements. If necessary, your suit will be adjusted or completely redone if it turns out that the manufacturing problem is due to us. If not, we will offer you a preferential adjustment or manufacturing rate.
